Designing an AI-powered workspace
for teachers everywhere
In August 2023, I was hired as the lead product designer for a new edtech tool aimed at reducing teacher burnout via the power of AI.
Within the first 3 months, I took the product from 0→1, and have since worked on countless features across unit creation, slide and worksheet editing, live sessions, & more.

The pitch
What is TeachAid — and why now?
It's no secret that teaching is a difficult job.
After several years working with the TeachAid team, we have heard directly from 100+ teachers in Canada, US, and around the world how teachers are overworked, underpaid for their time, and work in increasingly stressful conditions.
A core area where teachers need support is material creation — crafting units, lessons, activities, assessments, rubrics, that meet curriculum standards, meet their diverse student needs, meet district-specific goals, and meet a high bar of quality and student engagement.
TeachAid aims to be the world's best teaching assistant — saving teachers time and energy by transforming learning goals into 🔗 cohesive, interactive, 🧑🏫 classroom-ready materials
The vision
Key feature (1/3)
End-to-end unit creation
— from lesson ideas to slides & worksheets
TeachAid focuses on helping teachers quickly translate ideas into cohesive, classroom-ready materials. While other AI tools often provide only one 'piece of the puzzle', we generate full units comprising of lesson plans, slides, worksheets, and assessments.
Unlike many materials found online, our materials are built to directly align to teachers' local curriculum, supporting 50+ curriculums globally across USA, Canada, New Zealand, and more.
In this way, we aim to bridge the gap between real curriculums, AI thinking partners like ChatGPT, and core creation tools like Canva and Google Suite.
Key feature (2/3)
Intelligent co-creation —
or, a teaching platform that really listens
As part of our recent update, AI chat functionality has been integrated across the entire platform to support fluid, in-context editing. This enables teachers to capture ideas as they emerge and refine materials at any moment.
As a result, units function as living artifacts that evolve over time. Teachers can explore ideas, make conceptual shifts within a lesson, and fine-tune individual slides and worksheets at any moment.
Key feature (3/3)
Seamlessly take classroom-ready materials into
live interactive sessions
Planning is great, but effortless classroom deployment takes it full circle. We deliver on teachers' needs for engaging, interactive classroom experiences with fillable assessments, worksheets, and live classroom discussion activities.
Our interactive classroom feature is undergoing a massive redesign to align with our more recent updates. Beyond that, we aim to add additional interactive teaching elements such as polls, wordclouds, whiteboard activities, AI-driven suggested activities, and more.
